The Humanoid Cannonball
Accumulate 5 Cannon Target Points by landing near the target.
Description
For just one Darkmoon Game Token, you can ride the Blastenheimer 5000 Ultra Cannon. But the fun doesn't end there! We've placed a target in the water near the boardwalk.
If you can score five points from your landing, you can win some prize tickets!
A bullseye gets you five points, a close shot three, and landing at least near it gets you one.
Happy landings!
Pick up this daily Maxima Blastenheimer from next to the massive cannon on Darkmoon Faire island. When you're done, speak to the NPC again to get loaded inside the cannon for the cost of one token and fired across the faire towards a floating ring on the south-east corner of the island just off the beach. You will be given a special action bar to allow you to drop from the air into the ring, and your goal is to land in the centre.
One of the best strategies for landing a bullseye is to angle your camera directly downward while flying, and hit your drop button as soon as you are over the boardwalk. Due to latency and other factors, this may not always produce the right timing, but it is a generally good strategy. Luckily, you may launch yourself as many times as needed to total five points, at the cost of one token per shot, as the points are cumulative.
Also, if you don't feel like hoofing it all the way back to Maxima Blastenheimer after each try, there is an NPC gnome fishing on the beach near the ring named Teleportologist Fozlebub who will teleport you Back to the Cannon! for a small fee.
If you have the DBM addon installed, an audible counter will count down the Magic Wings buff. Click the vehicle's drop button after the voice has finished counting down. It isn't exact, but you are at least guaranteed a Great Shot! . After a few attempts, I got a feeling for the exact moment to drop and I earn a Bullseye! most of the time.
Make certain you do not have Slow Fall or similar spell or ability effect running on your character. It will 100% of the time cause you to miss the target entirely.
