Posted May 26, 2013 (Patch 5.3.0)This item will aggro mobs within a 40 yard radius, including guards, so be careful. It does not tap the mobs it pulls, and it generates very little threat. It is useful for grinding, gathering quest mobs, and picking up entire rooms in Challenge Modes.

Edit: It also greatly helps with earning
Yak Attack.

Posted Jun 5, 2014 (Patch 6.0.1)In Warlords of Draenor, this item will be added to the new Toy Box feature and no longer take up a bag slot. You will be able to "use" the item straight from the Toy Box interface.
The Toy Box will be account-wide and therefore so will this item.

Posted Dec 21, 2015 (Patch 7.0.1)It was pulled from the Toy Box in a later build of the WoD beta. It looks like Blizzard is actually going to add it to the collection for Legion, but is drastically nerfing the item. :(
Kvaldir Battle Horn appears intended to replace its usefulness. I don't understand why Blizz feels the need to make players grind out the same thing yet again. For example, there are two toys that have the exact same use - a low chance to petrify your target upon death. Chances are strong that new players will just go for the newer of the battle horns, and returning players will farm it because completion.
