So, this is one of the npc's that give a beastmaster daily that you can do for quick rep (as you get the daily if you contributed to the kill) and assuming someone had farmed the required materials to make him available. In my opinion, The crab (Colossal Viseclaw) is soloable by most range classes that can kite, and the Krasari Elder is soloable by most melee classes that can stun/interrupt frequently while able to take some damage and heal.
I solo this one on my dps monk pretty easily now since I'm decently geared (some work before), ensuring that I'm in melee range so as to not get pounced as it does a lot of damage. But the REAL key to beating this big cat, is interrupting the Ravage ASAP which is a channel that it does, which hurts really really badly. It also goes stealth, but its not a big deal, if you have a pet (ghoul or the xuen), they will follow it, and that allows you to throw some easy aoe dps. Other than those 2 moves, he melees for about 25k~ (IIRC), so light heals are recommended.
