The Heart of the Mountain
Obtain the Heart of the Mountain.
Description
For years I have sought a certain gem. It is called the Heart of the Mountain and it's the size of your fist! The Dark Iron dwarves have it locked in their vault and, try as I may, they won't let me purchase it.
So I must resort to force.
Fight your way to The Black Vault near the Hall of Crafting, breach its secret safe and gain the Heart. To do that, you must defeat Watchman Doomgrip, and he won't appear until you've opened every relic coffer in the vault!
Good luck.

Personal note: Don't attempt this quest with a LFG party. It's just not going to happen. If you want to complete this quest, form your own dungeon group or ask somebody with a high-level character to assist you.
The Heart of the Mountain is locked inside a small rectangular drawer directly underneath a small square safe in a room with several larger, rectangular locked safes. It is past Warder Stilgiss and his dog, Verek. There are also a number of golems in the room. Directions to the room from the beginning of the instance:
You will need 12 x Relic Coffer Keys,* one for each of the large safes. Every one of them must be opened in order to summon Watchman Doomgrip. Kill the dwarf and the drawer under the small square safe will unlock. Open the drawer and loot the sparkling quest object.
* IMPORTANT: THE KEYS ARE NOW TIED TO THE INSTANCE. IF YOU LEAVE THE INSTANCE, THEY ARE REMOVED FROM YOUR INVENTORY. THIS INCLUDES RELEASING FROM YOUR CORPSE AND RUNNING BACK INSIDE THE DUNGEON. *cough* The fastest way to get the amount of keys you need is to kill the normal mobs that are congregated above the Ring of Law.

Trivia: The Heart of the Mountain - the quest and the item itself - is a reference to J. R. R. Tolkien's The Hobbit. In it, a halfing named Bilbo Baggins accompanies the dwarf Thorin Oakenshield (and other dwarves) to retrieve a diamond known as the Heart of the Mountain from the ruined dwarven kingdom within The Lonely Mountain. The diamond is considered priceless because of its beauty and size.
